Resource Management for Events

CLIENT: LENND.COM
ROLE: User Research & Design
Role: SOLE Researcher & Product Designer
This project was designed to allow event organizers to track the overall equipment & inventory needs of their event - and to adequately resource their team without going over budget.
Equipment dashboard allows organizers to get a high level understanding of their resource needs & the impact on the budget.
The Story
Event organizers have historically used Excel & Google sheets to keep track of the resource needs of their event. The downsides have been outdated information and the inability to effectively manage physical inventory.
As a result, they've resorted to post-it notes, and paper lists on-site to manage who has what resource. This has led to lost and damaged equipment - without the history log to know who's responsible.
ROLES:
  1. Observational Field Research
  2. Market Research
  3. UX / UI Design
Understanding the process behind event procurement has been a years-long endeavor. Here are some of the artifacts I've created over that time to help wrap my head about the problem space.
User Stories
Early attempt to understand the users job to be done through the process of managing event inventory needs & ordering.
Journey Maps
Mapping the event journey from an event owner, production manager, and contractors perspective.
Friction Mapping
Tracking the points of friction a user experienced while using our early beta features for asset & inventory management.
Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth.
